  • There Goes the Sun

    It’s sobering to know that an event is once in a lifetime if you are of a certain age. The total eclipse on Monday was the only one I will see, I believe, unless there is a huge breakthrough in stopping the aging process. Although I don’t think I really want to live to 120. Who has the energy for that?

  • Cranky Holiday Greetings

    I admit to being a bit cranky this holiday season. The forced good cheer is leaving me tattered, like I’ve been subjected to a windstorm in the desert. Maybe that’s being dramatic. But it’s the holidays, so I am allowed. That and some Baileys in my coffee.

    I read a very good opinion piece in the NY Times today (It’s OK to Never Get Over Your Grief, by Mikolaj Slawkowski-Rode, Nov. 25, 2023) which said some of the things I already believed, but pointed out some other truths about grief that resonated with me.
